Soft, flexible, excellent for soundproofing and breathable applications.

ENERTITE® Spray Insulation

Enertite spray insulation is a low density, open-cell, spray applied polyurethane spray insulation for internal roofs, floors and walls. Applied as a liquid, this BASF manufactured water blown system expands to over 100x its original size completely filling all voids helping to provide an airtight barrier.

New Pitched Roof

BASF Enertite spray insulation can be installed between rafters to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-value. The open-cell insulation material can be cut flush with the adjacent timbers to allow for plasterboard fixing or can be sprayed proud of the roof rafter to the desired thickness.

BASF Enertite can be applied to breathable roofing membranes provided a counter-batten is place above the felt covering and below the tile / slate batten in accordance with Irish and UK
Building Regulations.

Existing Pitched Roof
BASF Enertite can be applied directly to a vapour permeable rafter slide placed between rafter timber to act a separation layer between the insulation and non-breathable roofing membrane. This rafter slide is positioned to maintain a clear 50mm ventilation void as required by regulation.

Timber Frame Wall Insulation
BASF Enertite can be applied directly onto OSB between timber studs to achieve the required U-value and airtightness level. Mechanical and electrical services can be fixed within the foam material however the use electrical conduit is recommended.

BASF Enertite spray insulation can installed to fully fill the timber studwork and is shaved flush with the inner stud facing prior to the application of the VCL and plasterboard inner lining.

Enertite spray insulation is installed by trained and accredited Foam Master contractors. Applied as a liquid, this water blown system expands to over 100 times its original size completely filling all voids help provide an airtight barrier.

Refurbished Wall Insulation
BASF Enertite can be applied directly onto a dry solid masonry wall, between timber studs to achieve the required U-value and airtightness level.

Attic Floor Insulation
BASF Enertite open-cell spray insulation can be installed between horizontal ceiling joists to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-value combined with airtightness.

The open-cell insulation is ordinarily applied to below the uppermost level of ceiling joists. A counter joist can be fixed onto the ceiling joist to allow for a thicker layer if required.

If downlighters are present they must be encapsulated with cover prior to the application of foam. Although electrical cables can be submerged within the foam layer it is recommended to route these through conduit for ease of access at a later date.

For A Warm and Energy-Efficient Home

Open cell spray insulation foam has many applications and is ideal for insulating any home. Also known as low-density insulation foam, this unique application provides an air-sealing barrier to leave your home as energy efficient as possible.

Because of its foam-like structure, open cell insulation also provides unbeatable noise dampening qualities, meaning your home is not just warm and energy efficient but protected from noise pollution.

Using an insulation that is moisture resistant could be problematic in the event of undetected leaks in the roof or other areas below or above the insulation layer.

When insulating along the pitch, a 50mm deep ventilation void must be provided through the introduction of a breathable rafter card. It is necessary to maintain continuity of cross ventilation and ventilation must be designed to avoid creating pockets of stagnant air.

Attic insulation

Ceiling insulation

Lifelong Savings in Gas, Oil and Electricity Bills

Open cell spray foam insulation provides a 100% air seal.

This brings lifelong savings in gas, oil and electricity bills. In warmer climes this air seal keeps the air cool and cuts down on the need for air conditioning. Perhaps not such a concern here in Ireland!
